How betting odds work

Decimal odds of 2.50 imply 1 / 2.50 = 40% if the market were fair. Sum the implied probabilities on a 1X2 board and you get more than 100%. The gap is overround — the book’s margin.

Crypto sportsbooks still price this way. The coin you deposit does not change the vig. A USDT balance and a euro balance on the same match are the same market with a different rail.
